My name is Michael Acosta.I am the founder and General Contractor of M.Acosta Construction Inc.I was born and raised in Hollywood, California.I got involved with construction when I was 20 years old.My first construction job was shortly lived and I did not return to the trades until I was 25 years old.When I returned at the age of 25, I had the privilege of being employed by one of the Premier Builders of Southern California.I was fortunate he took me under his wing and inspired me to be great.When I say he inspired me to be great, I say it from a point of view of being all I could be.I always aspired to be a leader like him and with that said he is part of the reason I am hear today as a contractor.I started in construction all the way from the bottom.Whats the bottom? Sweeping and clean up.There after, I started getting involved with demolition and became a driver for a couple of years.It felt like I was running a demolition company and at a very young age,I was 26 years old at that time.As time went by I was given other responsibilities like assisting others in building and it got up to the point where I was assisting with the supervision of projects.I had a really great takeoff to my career because even though I had started at the bottom, the builds that were being produced were High end.I got to work on a lot of mansions, (Custom Homes) and some penthouses.We are talking about multi-million dollar projects/properties.When it came to building the standard was set high and I was exposed & forged under a lot of pressure at a young age.I am grateful for that experience because even though it was very demanding, I had a lot of fun.To see a group of people educated in different types of trades come together and make a vision into reality is really rewarding.I fell in love with Fine Home Building.Ive had the privilege of first hand doing work in every single phase of a build.Ive worked on foundations, structural framing ,drywall, tile work, demolition and basically every trade.Ive encountered a lot of complex builds in my career and I have learned from them and have always delivered a great outcome.After parting ways with the company that showed me the way, I wanted to further develop my career and I got into school.I decided to pursue an education and found success.I educated myself in every trade and was able to obtain my B1 Contractors License.I passed the state Law & Business exam & Trades exam on the first try.Im really grateful for the people who have been a part of my journey to this day, the good and bad.With that said I’m thankful of Turk O’connor,(The contractor that mentored me) Tom Frykman, Adam Maxson, Hector Castañeda, Rolando Estrada, Pepe Segundio, Mega, my family & God.Everybody mentioned had a impact on my upbringing in construction & I am grateful.All Glory to god.I look forward to the privilege of Building for you.
